The quality of the orange determines the final taste of the candied orange. That's why we select only organic oranges, grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The fruit is then carefully washed and peeled.
Next, the peeled oranges are precision-cut into thin slices or small cubes, according to preference, to ensure even cooking and a perfectly tender end result. The orange slices or cubes are then immersed in a delicately prepared syrup made from organic cane sugar and filtered water, into which we add carefully chosen spices, such as cinnamon and vanilla, to enhance the natural flavours of the oranges.
Once the oranges have been immersed in the fragrant syrup, they are slowly cooked over low heat in large copper basins. This traditional method of cooking allows the flavors to develop harmoniously, while preserving the texture of the oranges. The cooking process can take several hours, but we're convinced that it's well worth it for an exceptional candied orange.
Once cooked, the candied orange slices or cubes are gently removed from the syrup and placed on racks to drain and dry slightly. This crucial step gives the candied orange its characteristic texture, slightly soft on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside.
Finally, once the candied oranges have reached their perfect draining and drying point, they are carefully packed in airtight bags to preserve their freshness and aromas. Our manufacturing process, carried out with love and passion, guarantees that every bite of candied orange you taste will be a unique taste experience, where the natural flavors of the orange blend harmoniously with the subtle notes of the spices, to awaken your senses and delight your taste buds.
